Toshiba tv question

Anybody have a big screen who may've experienced this problem? Distorted crooked picture, distorted colors mostly purple and green.
Last time we had it serviced it cost us an arm and a leg.

anyone have any fix it yourself ideas or know whether it's worth getting repaired?
It's twelve years old.

Actually it's not a Toshiba (that's our other normal tv). This is a Hitachi. Anyone?

12 years old. Pretty old for a TV these days. Time to add some more hazardous waste to the dump. You can buy them pretty cheap now. No reason to throw good money after bad. Fix this problem and something else will go out next year.

Sorry to sound so negative, but electronic stuff isn't made to be fixed anymore. It's more cost effective to junk it.
