Tossed the month olds outside!

13 chicks in a crowded brooder in my garage is a test of limits!!! The dogs were always trying to get through the door because they were so loud at night. And today.... despite my efforts to keep it clean in there.... they totally reeked and had knocked over the gallon waterer AGAIN. They have only had a heater that kicks on at 50* out there for the last 2 weeks so I figure at the very least they can handle daylight temps of 80* to 90*. If they get too cold at night I'll run a cord out for a heat lamp but they are NOT coming back in, nope.....

Oh... and once I got them outside I figured out I have 3 cockerels! An Astrolorp and 2 GLW's...... Hmmm...... may have to put them up for grabs. I have mixes from Killer (my super nice roo who has gone on to a ranch to protect another flock that needs him more than we do) in the bator right now..... Would rather one of them over the unknown since his dad was awesome as well
