Total beginner and looking for some information/help.

I'm a Nurse by profession but would like to get me some backyard chickens, now that I have plenty of space behind my house (1/2 acre). I live in Millcreek, Utah (Salt Lake City). I've been looking at coop designs and reading as much as I can, but still a little unsure about as few things. Hoping to find some answers here.
