Hey there ... My name is Janice and I just joined the group today and am very keen to learn as much as possible. I live on 3/4 acre in suburban Atlanta, love to garden, and am seriously considering getting a small flock of chickens in the new year. I am married with four small children and they are very excited to raise hens and collect eggs.
I will be asking lots of questions as we start to get our yard ready for hens ... I have a local friend who has six hens and has offered her small coop to get us started. She has been very helpful with all my beginner questions and recommended that I come here to get more help and support.
I look forward to getting involved with the group and to learning a lot about how to raise chickens

Beware of friends bearing chickens and coops. They are merely trying to infect you with chicken addiction - so you will not be shocked when they keep adding to their flock because you will be doing the same. Ha ha

We are all enablers here. Resistance is futile. Just think you are a BYCER now, you will never run out of people that talk chicken - unlike family members than may shun you as being "bird brained."
