The sharing of chicken knowledge is upon us urban farmers, Although this brings a question to mind. While people are touring coop after coop, is there risk or transferring any potential illness, virus's etc...?

Yes there is.
When we have coop tours here, most people have a boot bath with bleach in it, some put a brush and Lysol spray bottle out for use. None of us wear shoes we wear when we work on our chickens.
When I allow visitors, I have disposable plastic booties I make everyone wear or they don't get near the chicken area.

Awesome thank you, we are hoping to participate next year. Had you said there were no precautions I would not in good conscious participate in the Tour this year as a spectator.
Now however I am amped to know there are Conscious Keepers of the Fowl!
