Tractor supply bad feed experience

I purchased some starter feed from tractor supply. (3-4 weeks ago) And I am reaching the bottom of the bag. Well a green rock (mold) was in the cup after scooping. I then poured the remaining feed into a bucket to see what was in the feed. The whole bottom half is molded and rock hard. I called them and right away told them I purchased a while back I just now noticed though and then explained the situation. They then without hesitation told me to bring the bag label and will give me another bad. Now this may be normal with tractor supply. But in my opinion it's still a nice gesture on tractor supply's behalf that deserved to be noticed.

It has been very humid outside. I kept it inside so I dont believe that to be the cause. The new bag went straight into a stainless trash can this time. Hopefully that will help keep the moisture out? Does anyone have any ideas on storing feed? Aside from the googlable ones ;) anyone use a trashbag inside the can as well or just the can? Simple questions I know but others actual experience helps. Thank you for your time everyone.

I use a stainless steel trashcan and mine still gets like that sometimes from the humidity. I live in SE Georgia so it’s very humid here and we’ve had a ton of rain lately so that doesn’t help either.

I almost always buy feed from tsc. I never keep it 3-4 weeks. Are you buying too much?
We had an incident not too long ago with regards to tsc. I bought a huge bag of black sunflower seeds for my bird feeders. I didn't open it for two weeks due to not needing it right away and the sale price plus a percentage off due to a grand opening that was too good to pass up.
Anyway, I open the bag and there was mold all through it. I call up and they told me to bring it back. When I went to exchange they explained that due to it being a new store, they got some deliveries that stayed outside in the rain for weeks before it had a place inside. (Poor planning on somebody's end).
Anyway, they were out of the 50lb bags and exchanged for two 25lb bags - which were much more costly.
My point in posting is that tsc gets a bad rap on here for their chicks (yet people continue to get them from there lol), but yet they usually have really good customer service.
Make sure to sign up for the "neighbor club" as you get emails with some freebies and discounts. And... no I do not work for tsc.

I agree. Tsc does get a bad rep. And I will admit their chicken section can use more informed employees in that area ;) but yes they are still a good company when it comes to correcting any issues caused/not caused by them. They are one of the better companies I have come across when it comes to this.
