Tragopans

Im interested in the temmnicks and cabots can anyone tell me about them. I kinda want some but i dont know much about them.

Both breeds are available in the U.S.The temminicks more so then the cabots,but they are around.The only problems is most breeders only have 1 pair,so if you buy a pair they will more then likely to be related.So ask questions before you buy them and ask where their bloodlines are from.In case you lose one and have to replace you surely don't want the same bloodline as the bird you have.
I have been keeping records of where I buy birds from,where I sell them,eggs laid,what day the 1st egg from each breed was laid,how many eggs laid each year,and deaths.I encourage all to do the same so we can keep better records of what we have in our backyard.Here's my male temminick and his lady friend.Sorry,that is not his lady friend,but his daughter.The 2nd one is his lady.

I too would like to get tragopans as well one of these days. I only have 4 pens and 3 are full, one I plan to fill this coming spring so I need to build more for tragopans. There are folks in the area that sell the satyr trags for $350 a pair, I dont think I have seen any others. What can folks share about the husbandry? I know the cocks have an awesome display with the fleshy things on their face but what is mating like, does the cock have anything to do with the offspring? What about diet, could they get by on a pelleted diet?

Cabots are 800 euro in Ireland.
A friend of mine up the country keeps 4 unreleated pairs.
And another friend of mine nearby has them also.
