Last night I read and discovered that ducks can be trained so I decided to start with a simple command that you would teach a dog, we know this command as sit. Now I think I got them pretty well trained I've been holding up my finger as well as saying the command and they seem to be following it sort of well they disobey me a lot but through the few times that I have gotten an answer it is always correct with them sitting one after the other they slowly sit. Do you have any tips on how I can speed this up and maybe some things that I haven't tried yet and maybe some other tricks that you recommend I do want to try getting each duck to recognize their name. I was told that since they were ducklings they would be easier to train than fully grown ducks so maybe you could give me some pointers.

Hi!!
I’ve never heard of anyone who trained their ducks, but then again I don’t have many duck friends lol.
Have you been using treats??
I have some ducklings hatching right now and I think I’ll have to try to train them too!!
Do you have any videos of them sitting? I’m intrigued.

I do like the idea of potty training my ducks but unfortunately it is impossible as ducks have no control over their muscles in that general area. I will show you a video and I would like to say that if I am silent instead of saying the word sit I think it's because I may have discovered something new my ducks seem to respond better to the finger than just to the word on its own so I think they are more of a visual responder I'll send you a video right now yes I do use treats I think it's a good idea to alternate treats but so far I've used strawberries what I do is I make them I hold my hand down on them say sit and put my finger in front of them then I let them do it on their own I haven't got them fully trained yet but I think I'm on a good track.
