Dang it. Don’t you hate it when your chicks have been looking good cockerel wise, non red combs, perfectly pullet looking, and then you check in them later in the day, BOOM. It happens. Your beautiful “pullets” have transformed into beautiful cockerels. Red combs everywhere. Had it happen today with one of my five week old mixed breeds.
