Hi all!

I purchased Ayam cemani chick's a few weeks ago and they are now 5-6 weeks old.

I live in northern Ontario, Canada and the Temps are now hitting -25 Celsius at night.

How do I transition them to an outdoor coop? Should I offer some kind of heat (other than heat lamp)

I currently have them in a brooder inside my house and they are getting to be quite messy and stink haha.

Chicks are much hardier to cold temps then people give them credit for, but in this case a brooder plate or other heat source is probably a good idea. As long as they have a place to warm once in awhile they should be fine.
