Transitioning to Layer Crumble

Definitely get them off the medicated feed. That is intended for short term use (if it's used at all). You can give them starter which is not medicated, or a grower which is at least 16% protein. I personally don't have a problem letting pullets have layer if they have switched from peeping to clucking. But... I'm in a minority on that stance!!!! If you stay with starter, pick up a bag of oyster shell, and put it out when they show signs that laying is imminent, or when they turn 16 weeks old.

My chicks are 12-14 weeks old. I have been using Purina Starter Medicated. I am almost out of it. Should I go ahead and switch to Layer Crumble? I was looking at Purina Layena Crumbles with Oyster.
I would buy another bag of Start & Grow, but Non-Medicated.
Get a 25# bag if you don't have too many pullets and a 5# bag of Oyster Shells.
Put the Oyster Shells in a separate container at 16 weeks, as LG said. GC
Edited to add; I transition to a layers feed when they start to squat and their combs are red, over a 2 week period by mixing the feeds 50/50.
