How many Cornish Cross will fit comfortably in a plastic transport crate? We have 20 birds close to finish and I’d like to buy proper crates this time. Used dog crates last time.

Depends on how big they are. I usually get 7 big ones in the crates. Sometimes that seems a bit tight depending on how far you will transport them, how long they will be in the crates, what temperatures/sun exposure you'll be dealing with. You dont want them to pile or get overheated due to crowding. The purpose-made crates are unnecessarily expensive imo. I've recently found a great alternative in a fishing industry crate that is almost the same size and I can get them for $20 each used (since I live in a fishing town). Dog crates are definitely annoying- heavy and bulky.

Dog crates are bulky and bigger than needed, but if they are already paid for, I'd use them especially for small batches. I've also transported in cardboard but those were 3 week olds.

Sorry, I don't know how many would fit in a crate. Best wishes
