Illinois
next year, I am planning on taking my male quail with me to a different country. I just currently traveled to Poland from Illinois, and I plan on doing it again next year but with my quail. I would like to know if it is allowed to bring a quail to Poland? I’m going to take LOT airlines, but I couldn’t find any threads on it. I read about how you need bedding that absorbs the smell, and containers for food and water. Does anyone know if I can bring him?

From what I've read you can't bring any kind of bird on airlines. I may be wrong, but that's what my research turned up. I wanted to fly from MO to Oregon and bring my granddaughter one of my bantams, but found it isn't the same as bringing a cat or dog.

I don't think that's possible, you would have to check with Polands import laws, the US export laws, the airline regulations, there would be quarantine rules to follow going both ways...sometimes the quarantine times are 3 months. Then you would also have to deal with 'bird brokers' who would be the actual 'handlers' during quarantining, very expensive.

I was allowed to fly with my parrot under the seat (he was silent, thank god!), but I'm pretty sure you have to have a health certificate from a vet, and my trip was only in-country.

Poultry and foreign travel probably come with even more red tape. You need to call customs! Of both countries.
