Treating anemia?

I've just discovered that my geriatric buff orpington has a pretty bad mite problem, which I'm treating with Sevin dust. I know what to do about the mites, but she's also gone a bit anemic. Is there any way to treat the anemia? Any supplements I should give her or special foods I should give her?

Thanks much!

I would offer baby vitamins without added iron. At first this may seem silly, because she needs iron in the blood. But you won't get it from added iron, just from the necessary iron in balance. Feed her regular ration, moistened if necessary, would not hurt to give some yogurt for the protein which will build RBC's quickly. Continue to treat for the mites as necessary, they are difficult to eradicate. Later when she improves, offer fresh greens to boost the iron.

Thanks very much for the advice!

Any tips on how to feed a vitamin to a chicken?

You can either by a powder at feed store or local TSC to mix into the water or use infant liquid vitamins w/o iron, a few drops onto the beak a couple of times a day I think for a standard. I will see if I can find dosage again.
