Treating coop for gnats

How to kill and rid coop of gnats?
To treat for mites:What type of Sevins Dust should you use?
What powder should you use to add to food and to water?
Is "permethrin" in Sevens Dust?
Can you spray the coop with a "permethrin" spray and kill the gnats?

I put diatomaceous earth in the feed to help control flies in the poop.

Sevin dust is a commercial name for carbaryl, an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.

Permethrin is something else, a neurotoxin.

They are supposed to work well and be relatively safe around animals.

I don't use either of these or anything else in my coop.
