I have 12mth old Pekin hen, went off food initially and noticed her not roosting in her usual spot instead on the ground. Separated her after noticing green poo and began treatment for coccidiosis, treated rest of flock also. Hen was very thin, not eating. I noticed she stopped drinking as well so for the last week I have been hand feeding her and syringing cocciprol treated water into her as I thought her days were numbered. Since I first noticed symptoms, it’s been three weeks. I expected a faster recovery and wondered if it wasn’t coccidiosis at all. Anyone else had these symptoms, especially green poo? She’s walking around today and her comb is looking darker red then it has been so hoping we are out of the woods now.

I recently had a hen that lost half her weight, wasnt eating, and had green poo. The poo is what tipped me off something was wrong. Did your chicken just go through a molt by chance?

I Took her to the vet and ran a bunch of tests. Found that her crop wasn't emptying properly, so I ordered a crop bra and gently massaged it 3+ times a day. The bra really seemed to help. They gave her antibiotics and meds to help empty her crop, albeit they aren't 100% sure what was actually wrong... But I kept her inside and syringe fed her (I know this is risky, but she was so tiny. Sometimes she would eat blueberries. Then the only thing should would eat were Honest Worms from Tractor Supply.

It's been a couple months now, and she's out of the bra, doubled her weight and seems to be doing great.

I hope your girl recovers!

Her crop feels empty, how strange. Will try tempting her with some honest worms, thanks for your advice 😊
