Treating yard/Permethrin/Foraging

Hello all.

I live in a rural area of North Texas. We have two dogs along with our ducks. The dogs have been itching non-stop. Vet told us they have fleas (although we haven't seen any on them). We think we have fleas in the yard or some other biting insect (chiggers?). Along with that we also have a TON of spiders and ants. I'd like to get some advice in regards to treating the backyard. The duck house is attached to a kennel in the backyard that is moved once a week. We have a pool in there for swimming. So there is lots of swim and preen time.

If I spray the Permethrin, they would be foraging on grass that had been treated. I don't want to treat the yard, if it will hurt the ducks. At the same time, I need to do something to reduce the amount of biting bugs.

Also, are ants a terrible threat to the duck?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. So far, we've treated them with Advantage Multi (I believe), we've also treated areas in the house. We might do the permethrin dip for them if necessary.

What ratio do you use? I used the 1:200 on the yard and nothing. Not fleas. We are covered in bites. Some mosquito, others????
