Treats for Quail.

I like to smash some eggs up in a pan (shells and all) and make scrambled eggs for them once every two weeks or so. They love eggs and the shells provide much needed calcium!

Veggies like cucumber are high in moisture (97%) so don't take much away from their diet so long as they are given as well as their usual feed!

Mine will attack a pile of leaf lettuce. They get a small amount of scratch on occasion as well. They also love picking at dandelion greens.

My quail and chickens like a lot of the same treats. I give my quail mealworms, other bugs, cracked corn, as well as vegetables such as lettuce or grass which is important for good health. And whenever I give my quail treats I like to hand feed them so they stay bonded enough to trust me.

My young quail have been wild about mats where I've grown them alfalfa sprouts. I am experimenting this next time by adding some other seeds as well, a few beet seeds and some cinnamon basil seeds for a little change. I hang the mats of sprouts up in their cages with clothes pins and they just peck away. I kind of like that it gives them something more to do than just going to the feed bin.
