Seems everyone wants to know what treats they can give chickens. A chicken will eat anything that doesn't eat it first. But you must be careful not to give them to much salt. So now look on the bottom shelf way in the back of your refrig and all the small tupperware pieces you have been saving. Yup green and mold, throw it out to your chicken and watch the fun. Not all at once, save some for tomorrow. Now look at the dates on any can you might have in the cupbroad, any out dated ones open and rinse real good to get any salts off and give to the chickens. If you have your camera ready cook up a bow of noodles or spaghetti. If it is spaghetti don't break it in small pieces, for one chicken will be on each end tring to beat the other to the middle. Chickens are like little children, only the child wants sweets, the chicken doesn't care what it is. To a chicken a bug is what an M&M is to a child. You only need to remember to give it in moderation. If it happens to be a meat product don't worrry it won't hurt them. Actually it gives them more protein.

I agree about what to feed chickens.. but I too would be careful of some moldy items like too much mold on bread is not a good idea... but chickens are great at keeping those smelly mysteries out of your fridge.. it's fun to feed your chickens and watch them chase you down from the other side of the yard..

I don't have leftovers past one meal anymore. After we eat leftovers whatever is left goes in a bowl on the kitchen counter til the next morning(or in the fridge). Then I throw some crushed eggshells on it along with a handfull of BOSS and out it goes to the chickens.

I don't think this is bad... As usually, green mold is good for the immune system.. Green and blue are good. The usually harmful molds tend to have a red or black tint. I just watch out for the color. However, if you have a Penicillin allergy, avoid all molds to chickens as the green and blue molds contain penicillin and get into the egg...
