Here is a quick coop/tractor that I built for a broody hen and her chicks during my summer vacation.
It is light and easy to move on the large casters: When the casters are flipped down under the front it can be moved, and when flipped up the pen is flat to the ground:
It isn't waterproof, so I plan to staple a piece of linoleum over the coop part.
Mrs Szuess with her four chicks will run free today but will come back to the coop this evening or whenever she wants a drink; she and the chicks will be able to crawl under the pen because the wheels are down and once they are in the pen it will be closed up for the night.
Another hen with her five chicks are unfortunately still penned up, wishing that they had some freedom to roam. Their chance will come, if the two hens get along; I'm hoping that they will be able to share this coop/tractor.
