Got the last legs and thighs a couple of weeks ago from the nicest man at the farmers market.
Weren't enough for the family of 6 (includes 4 growing children!) so added four more thighs from our groccery store.

On the kitchen counter:
Ones from the market were twice the size!
Also we noticed the difference in skin--far less yellow fat under the skin in cornish x.

In the oven:
BIG difference in amount of fat that came out!!

At the dinner table:
There definitely was more meat on the cornish X.
My youngest usually eats two legs but he was full with one thigh from cornish X. lol
Even less fat so it seemed, the meat wasn't dry at all and I don't think my cooking can't take all the credit

On the empty plate:
Cornish X's bones were thicker and therefore heavier.

We went back to the same man following week and got three whole chicken this time. (got there earlier this time!)

Now my DH started thinking about meat birds.
I want my egg laying hens first, but we may really do the meat birds someday!!

Thank you for all the valuable info!
What we talk about here is a great inspiration for me and my family to live healthier and more independent living.

I have raised them for a few years now and they are great. The best tasting chicken we have ever eaten. I make sure we have enough whole chickens for Sunday Dinners for the whole winter and then some as well as for friends and family. 50 coming in June as day old chicks. Yahhhhhhhh
