Hello,
I just trimmed the head feathers on my Golden Laced Polish chicken and now my 6 Austrolorps are chasing her around the yard trying to peck her head! They have all been raised together and have never had an issue. Has anyone ever had this happens after trimming the feathers?
Thanks!

I have trimmed the hairdoo on my whit Polish in the past. Never had any pecking issues as a result. Question.... Is there possibly some red flesh visible??? Chickens see it as an injury and will try to finish of the victim (mean lil devlz). If so, then try to get some Blue-cote and apply. The blue covers up the red.
WISHING YOU BEST..... :welcome

They may not recognize her. Keep her penned within sight for a while so the others can get a look at her looking differently. I trim mine regularly and I don't have a problem because my other birds are used to the haircut. I also have 4 polish. A single polish in a mixed flock can be a target sometimes.
