Is it ever necessary to trim nails on a little one? I got another batch of babies that I thought were all female...and a roo turned up

His nails are very sharp and he usually cuts me when I hold him. Are roos generally like this? He's not doing it intentionally, but when he flaps about, he scratches....and now my right arm is getting all sliced up. I have apx 10 week old girls from an earlier batch and haven't had any issues of this with them.

Just askin'....thanks!

I have one of those nail sanders for dogs- the battery operated rolling one, i can't remember what it's called. but it just lightly sands the tips of their toenails so they arn't so sharp. I use it mainly for my older chickens since they are part of a petting farm.

It's not a must, but yes you can. You can take a human nail file and go over them a few times

to make them duller. The pedi-cure thing scares my dogs, and I know it would scare my chicks
