Some times the spurs on our Bantam Rooster get crazy long and curved. (Hens too) It interferes with the walking and can trip him up so we need to trim the spurs. Clipping seems to tend to shatter the spur so this time we are going to use a dremel tool with a cutoff disc.. Do any of you have any experience using this tool? P

I use a dremel tool on our chickens and dog toenails. I use the sanding disk and it works great.

The low speed does the job. I like using it because if you start to get to the quick and get a speck of blood, you quit. Not like using a trimmer, if you cut to short, there's no fixing it. Just remember, if the nails are long, the sandpaper does get warm, so give them a break or blow on it as you are doing.

Also, if you have the wand it helps keep the noise at a distance. Doesn't freak them out as much, but they do get use to it.
