I have a 16 week old copper cockroo maran and he is doing his "love" thing with a few select hens, also 16 weeks. The only problem is is that he is getting them non stop in the morning and evening......he will either run them crazy in the run or he hides in the coop and when the hens come in for food or water or to go in for the night, he jumps them. I have noticed that a few of the hens feathers are getting thinned out on the neck. My other rooster does do this and even does a little dance with the hens, and when the hens squall and try to run he lets go. I have 16 older chickens all together and they were all raised together, is this because there are 2 Roos? Is this totally normal?
The only good thing I can say about this roo is that he has been protecting my 7 babies that are just over a month old.
Any advice????
