trying to candle~ confused ? help plesae

I candled my hatching eggs this morning. They have been in incubator 10 days. They are R.I.R. , so brown eggs. They received not the best handling from the P.O. mainly because they did not come Express and the box was only marked "FRAGILE" not "HATCHING EGGS".

"FRAGILE" parcels are thrown as far as 20' into the carriers parcel hampers.

When I candled the eggs all but one had what appears to be just a large air pocket at the top. One egg was dark almost to the bottom with a small lighter area at the end. Any guess as to what I am looking at.

1 maybe chick out of 7 or ????? I have done everything correctly. Let eggs settle on arrival, temp. humidity, turning, keeping my fingers crossed etc.

I don't candle eggs till the 18th day, at which point I discard ones that will not hatch.

1. The egg looks clear. Either too early for candling (has to be 8-days since the start of the incubation). If clear after 8 days of incubation, the eggs are probably infertile or the embryo died at an early stage.
2. Fertile egg with red blood veins - only visible after 8 days of incubation
3. Rote oder schwarze Färbung – early embryo death -- if candled after 8 days of incubation or later.
4. Embryo with red "Blood" ring - early death
5. Dark outline with ill defined detail - late death (10-16 days)
6. Live embryo with bill in air sack - due to hatch in 24-48 hours
7. Normal development of the air pocket according to number of days
