My RSL will peck all of the other chickens except the buff one. Does this mean the buff is at the top of the pecking order with RSL being second in command? Or is it the other way around?

Chickens can have companion chickens that they like more then others. So it is possible.I'm not exactly sure, it definitely sounds like the RSL is near the top.
One of my hens was bossy also, exept to one hen. I knew this hen was lower in the pecking order, so I couldn't understand why my bossy girl left her alone.
The two hens ate together, perched together and looked out for each other. It was almost as if they were friends.
I'm not an expert on this topic, but I think either your RSL and buff are allies or the buff is top hen. Most likely the buff is the top.
Do the two hens spend time around each other? Do the other hens in your flock peck at the buff?
