trying to find book illustrated by edward gorey..help please!

ok..i have always been a huge fan of edward gorey but i am completely stuck here..i had a book as a little girl that he illustrated..it was about a little girl with some dolls..that i believe came to life at night. i cant remember. i do remember that this was a much loved book and i have been trying forever to remember the name of it! it wasnt along the lines of his usual work, it was just a normal kids book.

nope..it wasnt written by him , he just illustrated it. blah, i dont think ill ever track it down.
