I am trying to purchase true miniature silver appleyard ducks. I am not looking for full size or the "bantam" as it does not look or breed the same. Any help at all would be appreciated!

Actually, there are three. The standard appleyard, a bantam from the same originator, that does not breed true, and a miniature silver appleyard that was bred I believe by a gentleman named Fuller that has been accepted, and breeds true.

Still the same..He just improved the Bantam to my knowledge. I have a Pure Silver Appleyard Bantam Hen and then two Calls that are Appleyard colours..

I could post a picture of mine?...The Pure Bantam has a bit longer Bill and not as compact as the Calls ..Here people lie and sell Birds as What they think sells best..You need a good eye to tell the difference..East Indies are a Dime a dozen around her and get sold as Calls..

There are indeed three breeds. The Silver Bantam and Miniature Silver Appleyard are commonly confused, but they are completely different.

Silver Appleyard: the original, the large duck

Silver Bantam: developed by the same person that developed the Silver Appleyard, Reginald Appleyard. He crossed Khaki Campbells with white Calls and got this. He named it the Miniature Silver Appleyard, even though it looked more like an Abacot Ranger.

Miniature Silver Appleyard: I'm not sure how this breed was developed, but it had the true Silver Appleyard colors, so it took the name "Miniature Silver Appleyard," and the other breed was renamed the "Silver Bantam."
