Hi All, so I am new to this forum and new to chickens in general. I bought my first batch of Silkies on 3/15/18. I have figured out that my Buff is definitely a cockerel, even though he was smaller than the other 3 Silkies, he has always been the most outgoing of them all, he grew a mulberry colored walnut shaped comb above his beak and mulberry wattles and he started crowing about a couple of ago! He now has a name, I named him George
But, the other 3 Silkies have me a little perplexed. They are all 3 the same size (larger than George), they are more shy than George, none have shown any signs of growing a comb or wattles, none have crowed, I'm guessing they are pullets. Can anyone tell me if it is safe to go ahead and give them girl names or should I wait a bit longer?
