Hello,

I'm starting my flock this spring and I can't wait to get started. The hard part is deciding on which breed to get when you are only going to have 3-4 birds. I really want Icelandic birds since I'm Icelandic but then I would need to hatch them out and deal with roosters if I get roosters. I'll be blogging about my experience on my blog http://www.knittingwitholof.com

I will also be starting my own backyard bees. It will be a busy spring and summer. Hopefully we will get more rain this year.

Looking forward to getting to know other backyard chicken peeps.

Hello and welcome from Ohio.....so glad you joined BYC
Know what you mean about deciding on breeds-I would love to have one of each! They are all so beautiful.
Good luck with your search for Icelandics

Thanks for the thread. It really does help on a decision. Egg production is very important to me since that is their main purpose second to being pretty, fun pets.
