Tumor or cysts???

My hen has these black dry and hard growth like things protruding from her skin that are foul smelling. She has two on her neck, one on her back, one near crop/breast area. She looks deformed. Does anyone know what this is? Any advice or help is appreciated.

could it be foul pox? I can't see her but look up foul pox and see if it matches what your experiencing? google has images of the pox that might help. please keep us posted on what you discover. best' wishes to you

Thank you for replying. I looked up pics of fowl pox. They are not on her face, comb, or wattles. They are on her body where the feathers are and they are huge. I will try to post some pictures.

yes pictures can be very helpful i was thinking of a small black spot but you say they are huge? il do some looking in my heath manual and see if i can come up with something .il let you know what i find.

ok thank you!! I've been searching the internet for a few days and this site and could not find anything like this.

sadly i could not find exactly what your describing either.I did find tumors but it just didn't fit your description.. are the lumps soft or hard? are they oozing liquid ? is the liquid clear or yellow or white? i think the key is the smell. i couldn't find much related to smelling except necrotic dead tissue. i did come across something that said a certain bacteria could cause tumor and IF its caused by the bacteria it could be treated with antibiotic but its sooo hard to know if they are caused by bacteria or not...in cancer the tumor is usually hard...so again I'm at a loss. i looked in every health book i have and couldn't find exactly what your describing.maybe someone else knows more about it. gosh i wish i could be of more help. if she were mine because of the smell I'd probably chance using a antibiotic and see if it clears up at least the smell? keep me posted if you find anything else out. i hope this helps some sorry i couldn't find this ailment. my thoughts are with you. best of luck maybe someone can find more info?
