Turken with bad foot should I worry about disease

Hi we are new to chickens this year and have baby turkens 2 months old. We put them out in the yard to run while we were there to watch and our Rooster grabbed some. We chased off the Rooster and check all the turkens closly. We found nothing wrong with any of them and put them away about an hour later. The next day we find one that won't use it's leg (we think it's a hen). It can move its leg but doesn't want to - we have moved it and messed with it. It doesn't cry like it's in pain. However it doesn't splay it's toes out like it does on the other foot either. Should I be worried its a disease setting in or just an injury from the rooster???

Hi! I'd suspect it was a run in with the roo. If not broken you could use vet wrap (sticks to itself) to position leg. Really needs to be separated from other poultry in an area with dim light for a few days (keeps them calmer). That the toes are curled up is not a good sign (could be a more significant injury).

See splinting/wrapping here: http://www.avianmedicine.net/ampa/16.pdf

Good
luck!
