Turkey as a Pet

Hi, curious what her diet will consist of? I have a 16 week white holland tom we are wanting to keep around as a pet.
A White Holland is a heritage breed so it can be fed the same as any other heritage (non-broad breasted) breed. Flock Raiser is what I feed my whole flock (turkeys, guineas, and chickens) or you can buy a gamebird feed.

I have had my turkey since 2006 Bourbon Red ,bought 15 of them, ate 13 of them. His name is Toe he was a clumsy turkey very accident prone , he nearly sliced off one of his toes and had to have in house care which he needed a full mirror to look at to eat his food. Guess he thought it was another Turkey lol.. He was so sweet and such a good patient , had some close calls with the dogs, hard to keep him from fence fighting with the one dog on the property that wasn't bird friendly then he almost drowned in the horse's water tank.. When it came time to slaughter I couldn't do it because it didn't seem right since he survived everything else. I kept a Buddy turkey for him and Toe has out lived 2 more buddy turkeys to still be with us now.. Very sweet adore him .. he loves to play Turkey Bingo, truly Believes he a watch dog. In his younger days I've had to walk down the drive way to retrieve him. There was a broken down road grader that was for sale not too for across from out property and when people would stop to look at it wanting to buy it.. Toe would march all the way down there and confront them.. Often have to pick him in my arms when people come to the property. Never knew Turkeys growl but holding him in my arms and someone talking to me get two close Toe would start growling at them until they took a step back while we were talking.. . When my DH comes home from overseas and enters the barn to see him still with us.. Toe gets up thinking it's a stranger in the barn but quickly knows it's DH to be happy to see him.. I do not know what I will do without him. No other Turkey has been like him, I pick his buddy turkeys from a group of turkeys since you can't just buy one... But the turkey that is nice to Toe ends up being the Buddy turkey. .. Totally recommend when you find that special bird that is so beyond just normal bird.. you keep them forever..

and the result of too much fence fight with my Chesca .. nothing like having to teach and tell them both to stay off the fence. So funny that Toe and Chesca would both stop and walk away from the fence line once I had to get involved. love his little face and he loves hugs and kisses every day..

I have had turkeys as pets since 2012, and I will assure you they make great pets. I've raised them as my own since they were only a couple days old, and we have bonded ever since. They follow me around like dogs, and love to snuggle with my on my lap.

Now, they're 4.5 years old, and are still my best friends.
