This breaks my heart to have to post this. Our dog ended up out in the yard with our turkeys, I swear it was accident and We've immediately jump to rescue. I ran over to Trackor Supply and got some Poiltry +aid. Late on a Saturday night so nobody was there that could help. We've got the turkey in a cage inside. We've cleaned her up and nothing looks to bad, few wounds but looks like they could heal. One of my major concerns is the amount of missing features. Her back is almost completely plucked out. There's a lot of features missing and it has me worried about if she's in pain, and two if she'll be able to survive with the missing features. Second concern is what kind of medicine I should get that would not only help heal but possibly help with pain if she's in pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If they survive the first night and aren't shocky generally they will heal up without any help. I personally don't put stuff on wounds as turkeys do a good job cleaning them themselves.

Pain will help to keep the bird quiet for quicker healing. Her feathers should grow back before winter.

She made it through night one and day one. Any idea how long I have to keep her enclosed to keep flys away? I know I have to keep her separate from the flock but how long before I can put her back outside in a cage?

I generally don't keep them inside as turkeys will clean their wounds. If you have a fly problem than I might spray the wounds with bluekote if they aren't too deep.

She does have a few open wounds but nothing deep. I did pick up some bluekote today because I read that on another post. From your responses I probably should keep her in an area where flys can't get to her at least until the wounds scab over right?
