My two turkeys have been mating so who knows If they are fertile. She had never laid before as she maybe a year or a but older not sure. But is this a turkey egg? My chickens have never laid in this spot and looks a little different then a chicken egg to me. This would be her first one. Give me more information. I did read they will start laying on them once she gets them all which is what number? Are they safe there?made a little house like that she can fit into I hear they lay on the ground but sometimes my chickens go walk in and out I don't want them to hurt it. The chickens have never peaked eggs open so that wouldn't be the case. Can I touch it? I want to put more bedding down but don't want to mess with it.

Yes it is a turkey egg.

Most turkey hens will go broody once they have a large enough clutch of eggs. You can touch the egg. You could even write the date on it . If you remove the egg, I recommend replacing it with a fake egg to keep her laying in the same spot.

Whether or not it is a safe place depends on a lot of different factors which we do not know.

We are going to build a place that has a door and locks. But will take a couple days. It will stay closed and locked at nigh time and I will open during the day. It says if I were to Incubate them put them in there within 7 days or will decrease chance of hatching.. it will take or could take longer than 7 days to get all her eggs so does that decrease the chance as well! Very new to this as this is her first egg ever!

I save the eggs for up to two weeks before incubating. You do want to collect the eggs daily if you will be incubating them. Store them pointy side down in an egg carton in a cool area. Turn them by alternating which side of the carton is elevated. They should be turned an odd number of times daily. Three is a good number of times.

just curious i was thinking about getting a pair of turkey does the Tom make a lot of noise like the rooster does will the neighbors complain
I'm going to say they are not at all bad as roosters. My turkey only gobbles when something startles him or my kids yell out back...
Where we live we can't have roosters but we can have turkeys/toms so I guess they don't make that much noise

Toms can gobble all day long in breeding season. Hens themselves can get pretty loud too. Some people don't like turkey sounds but most seem to enjoy them.

If your place is small enough that you need to worry about neighbors complaining, you probably don't have enough room for turkeys.

i had a rooster and they wanted to put me in jail

Our turkeys are noisy, constantly making a loud string of three squawks or a loud, high-pitched "WHIRT" for attention or if they're hungry. Or if they see you. Or if the neighbor drives down his driveway. Or if a cloud goes across the sun. Or... well, you get the idea. Ours are 6 months old, a mix of seriously obese Broad Breasted Whites, much more athletic (and independent) Red Bourbons and Rio Grandes. The Whites roost on hay bales in the chicken area (a large, open ended tractor shed) while the rest roost in a huge sycamore next to the house.
