My turkey hen successfully hatched 8 eggs last year, and has tried again this year (I limited her to 3), but she was such a good mom I let her have a couple. Well, the first one hatched on Monday (three days ago), and she killed it :( I don't know why. One of the other eggs was peeping late Monday night, but has not pipped and I haven't heard it peep since. Is it dead? Should I open it and see if maybe it is still alive but just couldn't get itself out? I just know that once they peep inside the egg they've broken the air sac and I'm fairly certain 3 days is way too long for them to go without pipping. The third egg has neither peeped nor pipped, so I'm wondering if it died too? Any advice? Should I let her sit for a few more days on them? or should I call it a lost cause and take them from her?

Sometimes if the poults hatch, than wander away, than come back a hen will try to kill it. It's why I no longer let my hens hatch. It's easier to hatch under broody chicken hens and for me to raise them. You could candle the remaining eggs to see if you see movement.

ah thats good to know, maybe that is what happened. I have candled them, and I don't see any movement, on Monday I was seeing little pulse movements, but now nothing. I'm guessing they're gone :(
