Our turkey, that we've had for a short time, I don't think is quite a year has been eating Dumor 16% layer pellets (for the chickens). I would like to switch to turkey feed and my husband just bought Blue Sean Turkey Grower Pels. I figured I would mix the two for a week then change over completely. Are these pellets the right stuff? Is it better to mix then switch?

Blue Seal grower pellets is probably fine. That is what I feed my turkeys right now though they are only about 13 weeks old. But I would probably go to the next stage up which is the breeder pellet for mature turkeys. Here in NH Blue Seal just changed all the poultry feed. My Blue Seal store now sells a multi-flock feed instead of a turkey feed. Multi-flock grower has 22% protein and multi-flock breeder has 18%( I believe the protein is the same for turkey grower vs turkey breeder if that is what your blue seal still carries).

Thank you so much thats what I need to know. He's all molted out looking beautiful but want to put some weight on this guy. He's not for the freezer just living his live.
