Hello everyone, we are living in Central America and lately we've bought chickens, but also ducks and turkeys. First we wanted to go only with chickens, but then the lady that sold us chickens asked if we also can take care of her ducks and turkeys. She's very old, doesn't have anyone who can take care of them and it started to be too much on her. So we ended up with 3 ducks, 2 turkeys, few chickens and rooster. They are living together just fine, but for sure later we want to remove turkeys so they can have separate, more calm place. But before we had the opportunity turkey started to sitting on eggs. I have a question about removing her to safer place once her babies will be born. I couldn't find adequate answer to that question. Can I move her and her babies right after they will be born? I want to keep them away from the rest of the hen from beginning so they have better chance of survival. The thing is honestly little bit more complicated because turkey guy started to sitting on ducks' eggs and he is really determined, doesn't leave the nest. So I am feeding them both. And ducks is preparing new nest with eggs. Then we have two chickens and one of them decided to start sitting on eggs also. Looks like they love their new place and I am trying to give them the best environment but honestly everything is still pretty new for me and I hoped I will have more time before they will decide to have babies. So any advices and recommendations are more then welcome. Thank you!
