Please help. I have a Tom (first time Turkey owner), that I got as a 2 day old poult in June. He's a Royal Palm who generally only shows off for me (and my chicken hens, lol) but isn't mean at all. I also hatched a Blue Slate turkey in August and I don't know yet if it's a Tom/hen. My Tom roosts on my fence, up against the house every night. My baby tried to roost with him last night and he was locked on to the neck. I noticed some feathers that were broken there during the day and thought that it was molting. The skin is still intact and all seems to be fine during the day, it just seems to be at night when roosting. Is he just asserting dominance/hierarchy? Is there anything I can do or just let them figure it out?
