Yesterday we went to visit a friend and she had a very nice suprise for us. It was done on an old window frame by a local artist. Just thought I would share it

It will go on the wall of the "office" here at the house. They did a great job painting it, you can't really see it in the pic but the detail of the face is amazing.

I need to check around though, never had a painting done on glass before. Will the paint flake over time? I was thinking about getting a sheet of thin plexiglass to put over the painting. just cut it to the size of the window frame to seal the paiting in. Any painters out there? thoughts?

Steve, I have done painting on glass and windows. You can buy sealer for glass in most craft stores that carry glass paint. You would only want to cover the painted areas tho. I don't have any of that paint now tho, and for the life of me I cannot remember the name brand.

I'm sure a store clerk can point you in the right direction.

I don't see why you couldn't use the plexi to cover it either. That would surely protect it as well.

Nice painting!

Steve if possible check with the artist or their representatives. The best sealer will be determined by the type of paint that was used. Also some artists seal all their work saving you the trouble.
