turkey question

if i have a pen that has had chickens in it can i put turkeys in it or will they get a disease

The biggest concern with co-housing turkeys with chickens -- or putting turkeys where chickens have recently (within 4 years) been -- is blackhead. The presence of chickens however, does not automatically mean the turkeys will fall ill. Blackhead lives in the soil, chickens just facilitate its growth and spreading. If it's in your soil, your turkeys could get blackhead. If it's not in your soil, you're fine.
