Turkey tail falling off

Theres a big cut on my turkeys tail that like literally cutting it off nothing is wrapped around it how is it possible?

Looks like something was chasing it and took a few bites at it.
The tail feathers show that type of damage.
Maybe a dog?
Wild animal would not have given up.

My goose was pulling out feathers but would that cause the tail to rip?
