Turkey Time?

Hey all! So I went to my first poultry auction today, just to watch.I thought it was great fun, although my husband, 4 and 2 year old daughters wherent as enthused. Lots of wiggles Well they had about young 5 turkeys and it had me wondering.... Is it worth it to raise a turkey for Thanksgiving? I have read that raising chickens for meat and people say it is the best, they will never go back to store bought. Is the same for turkeys? Also can a turkey free range with the chickens?

I raised Heritage turkeys and Broad Breast Bronze and Whites. If you get BBB or BBW in spring time, they will be ready for Thanksgiving weighting anywhere from 25-40 lbs. Heritage turkeys in the other hand are smaller and take longer to grow they weight 10 to 25 lbs. they can grow with the chickens but some people don't like to keep them together, mine free range with the chickens but go to their separate pen at night.
