Turkeys and chickens?

I’m thinking of adding turkeys to the homestead. Once I can find some of course. I’m curious if anyone keeps their chickens and turkeys together and how well that works? Will my hens hurt young poults or will the turkeys get big and hurt the hens? Will this stress my hens out too much?

I don’t keep them together.I just started turkey raising and apparently they can contract blackhead disease from them so they only free range together.
My poults are about four weeks I’d say and bully the holy crap out of my chickens, they definitely shouldn’t be raised as a flock. My poults don’t peck the chicks as bad as they did when first integrated but still occasionally chase them.
That’s my experience so far.

It seems personality dependent. Definitely monitor them when they are put together. I have a RP Tom that spends all day roaming with 3 bachelor roosters. Then again, I had a rooster (one of the ones that hangs with the TOM) and a turkey hen that would go at each other whenever possible. Mixing juveniles and adults from either species probably requires special monitoring.

Yea. I think I might let them free range together after a while but for the time being I might just get them and keep them in the juvenile chicken pen since No one is using it at this time

I keep my bachelor Roosters with my Turkeys while they are growing out before butchering. My Hens have no problems keeping the roosters inline, and the Toms seem to care less.
