Turkeys and snakes

Simple questions.......will a free range turkey go after snakes? I know turkeys are great at keeping the bug population down but am wondering about the snakes.

Yes turkey's will go after some snakes, as log as it's not to big.

As far as how well they fair, that would another question.

small snakes they can handle like a 6 inches to 1 foot garder or larger snake.

A full size rattle snake or large rat or bull they might not be able to.

It also depends on the type of turkey. a spanish black wich is closer to it's wild cousins would fair better then a BB Bronze or Great white adult.

Several years ago when I raised standard bronze turkeys I was constantly finding dead snakes that had wandered into the turkey pen. Those bronze hens would mutilate the head of any snake that got into their pens.
