here's a short video of our turkeys and chickens in the snow.
i was really hoping to have the gobblers processed by the time this winter weather arrived, but we were caught off gaurd with an early appearance of the white stuff. This was taken last week and the snow hasn't stopped falling since.
The tom is about 30lbs and the girls about 24lbs.
I was also hoping to have straw bales from the ground to roof on 3 sides of the coop for added insulation, but this hasn't happened yet either. There is no hydro to the coop - does anyone have any suggestion for a waterer that won't freeze? currently i put a boiling kettle in their waterer every morning.
i thought the hens would slow their egg production with the short days and cold temps...but so far they are keeping right in pace with previous months! yay!
thanks for watching.
