Turkeys with my Hens in Northern California

Hi, I was interested in adding a few female turkeys to my flock of 8 hens. I have plenty of free range room. I reside in the East Bay of California. My main concern is that Black Head disease. Does anyone have any experience with raising these animals together in this area? Is this disease in our area? I have no interest in keeping them separated as my flock free ranges in the back yard.

Contact your local agricultural extension agent. If that fails, check with local feed stores (not chain feed stores), local veterinarians. As a last resort you can contact your state veterinarian.
