Turkish Van cats

A few months ago we got Casper from the local animal shelter. We chose him purely for his personality, and the only history they knew about him was that he was found as a stray. When we first brought him to the vet, she told us that he was actually a breed, called a Turkish Van cat. I looked at some pictures, but they all had coloring on their tail, he only has a little near the base of his tail. Well today we brought him in to get neutered, and the vet called and asked us if we knew who his parents were and who bred him. I said we didn't know. Well, I just thought I would see what you guys thought, here are some pics!

We are going to go pick him up soon, so we'll see what they say.

Turkish Vans are supposedly very fond of water and will actually swim. I had a kitty long ago that I suspected was a Van that I found as a stray and he would get in the tub or shower whenever he could. He was totally white but that is acceptable in some of the registries. He was a sweetie - very smart and liked to play fetch.

Thanks everyone! We just got him home, and he is as playful as ever!

Maybe he is half Van or something?

Come to think of it, he does try to get in the shower a lot after someone gets out. All well, Van or not, we love him!

He is Probably just a Heinz 57 cat (a mixed breed cat), He sure is adorable thou!

I have a cat that has no Turkish Van in her and she L-O-V-E-S to play in the tub! and hop in the shower.

Thanks everyone! All the cats I have ever owned were Heinz 57's, but I loved them all! I just don't know why the vet is so convinced he is a Turkish Van.
