I rescued this old waterlogged dresser from the fire pit. I know I can build a roll away nesting box from scratch with little issues, but has anyone built one from an existing structure like a dresser?! Eggs would roll to back. Any ideas on which drawers to take out to modify are welcome! I’m assuming top would be too high. Gut bottom, chop top off and add tin angled roof? I need 3 boxes or one large community box for sure. I forgot to grab measurements. I should have time to do that later today!

I think so to! I restore antique furniture so doing this to this particular piece would actually kill me LOL but I’m putting a lot of money into my coop and I’d like to save as much as I can if possible and this gal has seen better days.
Did you watch that antique show where this old man spent his last dime on what he thought was a good investment when he was young (it was some sort of wooden portable toilet, I think)..... and like 40 some odd years later he came on the show thinking it was going to be worth a lot only to find out it's not even worth a 12 pack of Charmin Ultra?

Anyway, back on topic..... can you build me one too? :p

@DoeAndGander I'm interested in how your dresser nest box turned out

Sorry to leave you guys hanging!! I will either use this or an old washstand I have. My coop is taking far longer than planned due to existing structural issues (next up will be busting out concrete that’s in the way... yikes!). I will definitely post a photo once it’s done!! It has been a long time of putting this off to get other things done. The ladies will be ecstatic to get out of their makeshift coop
